How donation helps with Cystic Fibrosis

Let’s delve more into the topic of who needs organs. Babies are born with abnormalities and diseases every single day. In today’s post well focus on one of these diseases which is cystic fibrosis.

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic condition which is life threatening condition affecting children. It affects many organs in the body by clogging them with thick, sticky mucus. This mucus can also cause problems within the pancreases as well as blockages within the lung causing damage that is irreversible.

The commonly transplanted organ in many cases is the lungs, as damage done by the condition means new lungs would be the only option once such irreversible damage has been done.

Watch this inspirational story about the Stenzel twins and their story with how a lung transplant helped them deal with Cystic Fibrosis.
