So far in our exploration of seeing who YOU could be helping out with an organ donation, we have discussed conditions acquired at birth. Some people however also develop a disease or illness which causes an organ to fail.
Today we look at a condition called cardiomyopathy. Cardiomyopathy is a condition that is mild in most cases however it can develop into serious heart failure which may result in the need for a heart transplant. The condition means that the heart muscle becomes inflamed and enlarged meaning the heart becomes weak which may leads to heart failure.
